As seen on The Block AU: The Outdoor Fireplace
For the first time in The Block Australia history, all houses were built from scratch using the exact same layout and size. On top of that, a strict new rule meant 'all-nighters' were banned, with the building site locked every evening — putting even more pressure on the teams’ time-management and planning skills.
Another twist was, from episode one, teams were given a detailed weekly schedule, individual room budgets, and an overall build budget of $250,000, along with a $40,000 PowerPass from Bunnings. Across the season’s 12 weeks of room reveals and challenges, there was one week we at Trendz Fireplaces were particularly excited about: Week 11 — Backyard Week.
However, Trendz Fireplaces actually made its first appearance earlier in the season during Week 5’s Comedy Roast Challenge.
"In addition to the $5,000 thanks to E&S, the winners would walk away with a $52,995 outdoor fireplace thanks to Trendz Fireplaces, come Landscape Week. Game. Changer."
For Trendz Fireplaces, a family-run business based in New Plymouth, being featured on The Block Australia was an incredibly exciting moment, especially as the show is currently airing in New Zealand, with viewers only just reaching the midpoint of the season.
The winners of the Comedy Roast Challenge were Robby and Mat, securing themselves one of the most talked-about backyard features of the season.
